Welcome to Longevity Fitness
My mom and dad always said, “God works in mysterious ways.” This is true in my life’s journey. I never thought that personal training would be the path I would take, but working with Joy has been an exciting new adventure. Joy and I have gotten to know each other over the last several years (I don’t want to date either one of us) working in parallel with the occasional crossover among mutual clients.
Joy's training philosophy is based on two beliefs: if you don’t use it, you will lose it and some is better than none. Statistics show that it is never too late to begin exercising. Exercise can improve participant’s wellness through the reduction and prevention of age onset diseases, improvement of balance and mobility, emotional stability, reduction of physical frailty, and overall enhancement with activities of daily living. Joy has been in the fitness field for over thirty years, specializing in the Senior market for the past twenty of those years. She has developed and implemented very successful trend-setting elder fitness programs in local retirement communities.
One day, Joy and I were speaking about our lives. I told her that I wanted to focus on long-term exercise for strength, balance, endurance with clients to try to minimize the need for hospitalizations due to preventable conditions, such as falls. I knew that this was her focus as well. It just so happened that Joy was thinking about retiring but was looking for the right person to take good care of her clients. And the rest, as they say, is history. Longevity Fitness was born!
This new adventure is a blessing for my family, and an exciting opportunity for me. I have been looking for way to work with individuals in their homes to make their quality of life better through exercise.
